Gym Policies
Safety First, Last, and Always
Our goal is to teach your children gymnastics, climbing, and tumbling in a fun and safe environment. As part of our class instruction, we consistently educate your children about ways to be safe at our facility. It is important that parents also know these rules so you can support our efforts and help ensure a positive, enjoyable athletic experience.
Proper Attire
- Students should have a bag to keep shoes, outerwear, and a water bottle, which will be stored in cubbies during class.
- Girls must have their hair pulled back away from the face. Hair clips, jewelry, headbands, and bows are not allowed.
- Girls should wear a leotard or a T-shirt with shorts or sweatpants.
- Boys should wear a T-shirt with shorts or sweatpants.
- Bare feet only in the gym (no socks).
Before Class
- Encourage your child to use the bathroom before coming to the gym.
- Speak to your child about listening to the instructor and following directions.
- Plan on arriving no more than five minutes early for class.
- Students ages 6 and up are dropped off at the front door no more than five minutes before class (seated on the passenger side for a quick, safe exit). Athletes will meet their coach at the gym door.
- Parents of children 5 and under should walk their child(ren) into the Lobby no more than five minutes before the start of class. Athletes will meet their coach at the gym door.
- Please remind your children to put their shoes/boots, outerwear, and water bottles in a cubby before entering the gym.
- If your child is not feeling well, please stay home. We offer a flexible make-up policy that allows two make-up classes to be scheduled within the session.
During Class
- Children are not allowed to use gym equipment before class.
- Children should look carefully before crossing in front of other groups in the gym.
- Children must listen to the teacher during class, follow all safety rules, and treat peers and staff with respect.
- Children should let the instructor know if they are unwell, need a drink, or need to use the bathroom.
- While you’re welcome to watch your child’s class at any time, please follow the drop-off/pickup procedures as space is limited in our Lobby.
After Class
- Please arrive for pickup in the Lobby no more than 10 minutes before the end of class. Coaches will dismiss athletes to their adults.
- Children must not be left unattended after class and may not leave Exxcel without an adult.
- If you are running late, please call the office. Staff will have your child wait in the office. Tell your child about this procedure in case you’re unable to notify the office.
Thank you for your support.
